| Responsive Funding in the NIHR SDO Programme | |
| Description: | The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Service Delivery and Organisation Programme (SDO) has just established a new responsive funding workstream, and this is its first call for proposals. We anticipate spending about £3 million pa once this funding workstream is well established, and there will be two calls for proposals each year. They have established a new panel – the SDO Studies Panel, chaired by Professor Lorna McKee to assess proposals submitted to this workstream. The Studies Panel funding workstream is not wholly open. Each call is likely to identify a number of areas in which we are seeking proposals. These will include particular research topics, or research approaches, or other targeted areas of work. This first call identifies three such areas: follow-on empirical studies, evidence synthesis, and scoping reviews for future research needs. |
