Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust

Brain Tumour Research Project Grants Details (Hits : 2179)

Aims: Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust and Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) are launching a joint clinical trials initiative for primary brain tumours.
Description: Recognising the further need for research into novel agents and therapies in this area, a call for feasibility study applications has been issued. Applications will be reviewed at the March 2010 meeting of CTAAC and applicants will be notified of the decision at the end of the month.

Assessment criteria for applications are as follows:

• Clinical importance of the research question;
• Scientific importance of the research question;
• Adequacy of background and preliminary data;
• Strength of study design, including statistical design;
• Expected interest/appeal to patients and likelihood of adequate accrual;
• Anticipated opening for trial in the relevant portfolio.
*Type: Projects
*Duration: 1 year - 3 years
Funding: Projects are available in the order of £25,000 per annum (up to a maximum of £40,000 in exceptional cases) for a period of up to 24 months.
*Amount: > £100K       (Estimated total funds: £480,000)
