Fulbright Diabetes UK Research Award Details (Hits : 370)

Aims: Funded generously by Diabetes UK, each year, one award is offered to a UK citizen in support of research into the clinical or biomedical aspects of diabetes or the social or economic conditions of sufferers at any accredited US institution.
Description: This funding is intended as a contribution towards any institutional fees, travel to/from the US, and general maintenance costs whilst in the US. Limited sickness and accident benefit coverage, visa sponsorship and processing and participation in a number of Fulbright Scholar events are also included.
*Type: Fellowships
*Duration: 6 mths - 1 year
Funding: The award is for the US dollar equivalent of £75,000 (converted using the prevailing rate), paid in instalments directly to the grantee, the first of which is typically given just prior to departure from the UK. The award is for a period of 12 months beginning at any point between 1st August 2011 and 30th April 2012.
*Amount: £50K - £100K       (Estimated total funds: £75,000)
Closing Date: May 2011 (Guestimate ONLY)
Comments: The closing date for application was the 31st May 2010. Applications are available from 1st February 2010.
Restrictions: Minimum eligibility for this award category:
* UK citizen (resident anywhere)
* hold or expect to receive a PhD in a relevant area before departure to the US.
