Health Foundation (The)

Shine Details (Hits : 1137)

Last updated - 06 July 2010
Aims: Shine is The Health Foundation's new annual award focusing on innovation. Each year they will be looking for ideas that tackle a key challenge to high quality care. We all want the best health service and many of us have ideas about how to improve it, but good ideas only become good practice when there’s an opportunity to develop, test and gather evidence to support them.
Description: The Shine challenge for 2011 is: Find new approaches to delivering healthcare that reduce the need for acute hospital care – while improving quality and saving money.
*Type: Projects
*Duration: 6 mths - 1 year
Funding: They are looking to invest up to £75,000 in each of up to 18 projects. Over 12 months, teams will be supported to put their approach into practice to gather evidence about its impact and effectiveness.
*Amount: £50K - £100K       (Estimated total funds: £1,350,000)
Closing Date: 04 October 2010
Comments: The closing date for completed applications is 12 noon, Monday 4 October 2010. The programme is open for applications for 12 weeks, allowing enough time for people to pull together teams and develop ideas. You will need to submit a fully costed project plan as part of your application. For further information see their website.
Restrictions: They welcome applications from teams from across the health service, including the voluntary sector. This year’s challenge is to reduce the need for acute hospital care. So they are expecting applications will come from cross-sector project teams. For example, collaborations between primary, acute and /or community care.
