Diabetes UK

AHP, Nurse and Midwife Research Training Fellowship Details (Hits : 1179)

Aims: These Fellowships are open to allied health professionals, nurses and midwives who are committed to the care of people with diabetes and their carers and who wish to undertake training in clinical or basic science research at a UK Higher Education institution leading to a PhD.
Description: Application forms must be requested from the Research Department. At this stage applicants are asked to provide a CV with a full publication list, if applicable, and brief details of an agreed supervisor and of their proposed research question. Applications must be from both the agreed supervisor and the candidate. Supervisors must be able to show that they have a full time position at a UK-based institutions for the lifetime of the grant. Diabetes UK will not accept applications from the candidate on their own.
*Type: Fellowships
*Duration: 1 year - 3 years
Funding: Support may be requested for up to three years full time. However, the Fellowship may be held on a part time basis over a longer period. Up to £14,000 per annum and up to £1,500 may be requested for relevant training.
*Amount: £10K - £50K       (Estimated total funds: £47,500)
Closing Date: 10 September 2010
Comments: The Allied Health Professional, Nurse and Midwife Fellowship is advertised in the scientific/medical press in March each year, with a submission deadline of 10th September 2010.
Restrictions: Applicants must be, or are eligible to be, registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or other appropriate regulatory body. Candidates of any nationality may apply but must have been resident and working in the EEA (European Economic Area) for three years immediately before application and intend to pursue an allied health professions, nursing or midwifery related career in the United Kingdom.
