| Aims: | To act as a forum for those concerned with research and education in the anatomical sciences which include topographical anatomy, histology, cell biology, embryology, neuroanatomy, physical anthropology, biomechanics, pathological anatomy and other topics. |
| General Information: | The Society principally serves anatomists in the UK and Republic of Ireland, but also has Members in many other countries world wide. It has a long history of service to anatomical scientists, having been founded in 1887. The Society has as its principal objective the "promotion, development and advancement of the anatomical and related sciences", both in terms of research and education. This is carried out principally by organising meetings, publishing the Journal of Anatomy and the award of grants and prizes. |
